The A&L Program provides hazard evaluation, compliance guidance, inspections, and sampling support for maintenance activities, DTS projects, and other small-scope work. Renovation, demolition, and major construction projects typically require a qualified environmental consultant. EH&S requests that project teams provide copies of consultant-generated survey reports so the information can be incorporated into campus historical records and leveraged for future projects.
Services for Campus Construction & Maintenance Projects
For renovation, demolition, and major construction projects, environmental surveys are typically performed by qualified consultants retained by the project team.
EH&S requests that Project Managers provide copies of all asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials survey reports upon project completion.
Sharing survey reports helps:
- Expand the campus historical records database
- Reduce duplicate sampling and inspections where appropriate
- Improve access to existing environmental information
- Support future maintenance and renovation projects
- Improve project planning and hazard identification
While consultant surveys generally do not eliminate the need for future project-specific evaluations, they provide valuable historical information that can improve decision-making and support campus-wide hazard management.
