About the Program
Many labs on campus dispose of unused chemicals. In order to minimize waste and make good use of valuable chemicals, EH&S provides this surplus chemical redistribution program at no cost for the UCLA research community. For Information on other ways to minimize your hazardous waste
Requesting chemicals is easy.
- Complete our request form
- Once we confirm the availability of the item(s) requested we will coordinate with you to pick up are one of our routine pick-ups for your designated building.
- Don't forget to added it to your inventory
If you would like to donate chemicals to the program, please bring them to your building’s chemical waste pick-up.
We accept items that are:
- Unopened
- Unexpired
- Stable at room temperature
- In good condition
- Commonly used solvents
We cannot accept:
- Precursors
- List 1 or List 2 Chemicals
- Controlled Substances
- Extremely or Acutely Hazardous Materials
- Picric Acid
- Chloroform
- Reactive or Peroxide Forming Chemicals

You can bring a mercury thermometer to our routine pick-ups for your designated building and request an exchange.
